The short version

A real hemlock cabin that seats an adult up to 6 foot 8, in an ordinary room.

It ships set to 149F and the owner unlocks 158F in about six seconds.

Medical grade 660nm and 850nm red light is built into the cabin.

About thirty minutes to assemble, for one person, on a 110V outlet.

Independently tested, free of toxic heavy metals and phthalates, ultra low EMF.

A home sauna sounds like a decision about money. It is actually a decision about distance. Every sauna anybody ever quit was one they had to drive to.

The Solara has sold out four times this year. The first time surprised the company. The fourth time told them something about how many people had quietly been waiting for this exact thing.

We spent 30 days with it. Here is an honest account.

First, the part that matters

What twenty minutes in it actually gives you

Owners describe the same three things. Sleep that arrives earlier and holds through the night. Legs and shoulders that are less sore the day after a hard session. And twenty minutes at the end of the day where nothing is being asked of them.

None of that is dramatic and none of it is instant. It is the reason a cabin twenty feet from your bed keeps getting used, and it is worth saying before any number appears on this page.

The verdict, in five parts

Five reasons it earns the $2,799

01 The cabin

It is a real sauna, in a normal house

100% Canadian Hemlock, full spectrum infrared, and it fits adults up to 6’8” sitting back with their legs out. Nothing about it feels like a scaled down version of the real thing.

It ships set to 149F and you unlock it to 158F yourself by holding both TIME buttons for about six seconds. That takes the number where most people want it.

The Solara in a home setting

Upright, legs out, clear air overhead. That is the 6 foot 8 claim in one frame.

02 The heat

The heat works differently, and that is the point

Near, mid and far infrared together, going three to four centimetres into the muscle rather than heating the air around you.

A traditional room gets hot and you sit in it. This heats you. It is why the panel number and the way it feels are not the same conversation.

Traditional hot air, 195°F. The air is hot, so your skin is hot, and you wait for the rest of you to catch up.
Full spectrum infrared. The energy passes the surface and lands in the muscle, so you sweat harder in cooler air.
03 The light

The red light is already inside

Medical grade 660nm and 850nm, mounted and running while the heat does its part. It helps support recovery and collagen production at the same time.

Every rival at this price expects you to buy that separately and find somewhere to put it.

04 The build

You put it together in an afternoon

About 30 minutes, and it plugs into a regular 110V outlet. No electrician, no 240V line, no permit, nothing bolted to the house.

This is the part almost nobody believes until it is standing in the corner. It is the single biggest gap between what people assume and what is true.

05 The materials

What you are sitting inside is documented

100% Canadian Hemlock, independently tested, free of toxic heavy metals and phthalates, and ultra low EMF with the figure published rather than avoided.

You are in there twenty minutes at a time, several times a week. That is the spec that should decide it, and most brands will not give you a number at all.

The Solara control panel reading 149 degrees

It ships set to 149F. Six seconds on both TIME buttons takes it to 158F.

Thirty days with it

The month, week by week

Week 1

Evening sessions of 25 to 30 minutes. The wind down was the first thing that changed, and it changed quickly.

Week 2

Used after training. Soreness seemed to clear over a shorter window than usual.

Week 3

Harder to quantify but real. It became the break between the working day and the evening.

Week 4

It moved to mornings. Twenty minutes before the day started set a different tone to the one that came before it.

Safety and certifications

100% Canadian Hemlock. Independently tested, free of toxic heavy metals and phthalates. Ultra low EMF. Always speak with a healthcare professional before adding sauna use to your routine, especially with an underlying condition. This is not a medical device and is not intended to be used as one.

FSA and HSA

You may be able to pay with pre tax money

May be covered with HSA or FSA funds through TrueMed. You qualify at checkout in minutes, with no doctor visit required. Eligibility is determined by a licensed provider, not by SaunaBox, and if you do not qualify the sale price still stands and nothing is charged to the HSA.

Hits 150 in under 20 minutes. At 6 foot 1 and 180lbs I fit very well and do not feel closed in. The sweat I get in twenty minutes is incredible. That red light panel is legit.

Compact, fits our home gym without being bulky, and it has genuinely inspired me to use it daily. My joints are less sore the next day.

Roxanne C. · Verified buyer
★★★★★ 5.0

Use it almost every day. Heats up quickly, easy to use, does not take much space. Less tightness, better recovery.

Devon M. · Verified buyer

Put it together on my own in about half an hour. No electrician, no drilling, plugged into the outlet that was already in the room.

James T. · Verified buyer

No complaints about the sauna. The boxes are heavy and it is a two person lift from the driveway, which nobody told me before delivery day.

Grant H. · Verified buyer
★★★★★ 3.0

Good cabin and I use it four times a week. It took me a few sessions to find my temperature and the manual does not really tell you where to start.
