Most red light products tell you a wavelength and stop there. That number on its own does not tell you very much — not how many emitters, not how tightly the beam is focused, not whether the thing survives being rained on.

So here is the entire specification, and what each number actually means in a bathroom.

What IP65 actually means

The two digits are separate tests. The 6 is dust: fully sealed, nothing gets in. The 5 is water: protected against low-pressure jets from any angle.

A shower head is a low-pressure jet. That is the whole reason this rating was the target rather than something lower — the panel is meant to run in the water rather than on the wall next to it.

What it does and does not cover

Running shower — yes

Water hitting it directly from any direction is exactly what IP65 is specified for.

Steam and humidity — yes

The housing is sealed against ingress, and the charging port has its own cover.

Submerging it — no

IP65 does not cover immersion. It does not go in a bath, a sink or a pool.

Charging while wet — no

Charge it dry and outside the shower, on a standard 5V adapter, with the port cover open.

Why the suction cup holds

A suction cup works by removing the air between the cup and the surface, so atmospheric pressure holds it in place. That only happens on a surface that is smooth, clean and non-porous.

Glass, glazed tile and polished stone all qualify. Grout lines, textured stone and anything porous do not — air leaks back in through the surface and the seal fails over an hour or two.

Wipe the spot dry first, press the cup flat, close the locking lever, then tug it once before you hang the panel on it. That last step takes a second and is the whole difference between it holding and not.

Battery, charging and how long it lasts

A 3.7V, 3,000 mAh cell gives up to two hours of total run time. At the ten minute setting that is roughly twelve sessions between charges. It charges over USB-C on any standard 5V adapter.

The cell is rated for 350 charge cycles at 80% capacity, which at three sessions a week is a long time before you would notice a difference. Store it dry, between 32°F and 104°F.
