What type of sauna is the Forge?
The Forge is a traditional Finnish dry sauna — not infrared. The Harvia® Vega Compact heater warms the air and the sauna rocks rather than the body directly. Water can be poured over the rocks to create a brief burst of steam (löyly), but the primary experience is high-temperature dry heat.
How hot does it get, and how long does it take to heat up?
The Forge reaches a usable 170°F in approximately 25 minutes and hits its maximum operating temperature of 200°F in approximately 40 minutes from a cold start, powered by its 3.5 kW Harvia® heater.
Does the Forge require an electrician to install?
Yes. The Forge is hardwired to a dedicated 240V circuit and must be connected by a licensed electrician. It cannot be plugged into a standard household outlet — there are no cords or adapters, and the setup is permanent.
What electrical circuit does the Forge require?
A dedicated double-pole 240V circuit, typically protected by a 20A double-pole breaker (confirm with your local electrician). The unit draws 14.4A, with a peak load of roughly 3,620W: heater (3,500W), lighting (60W), and ventilation fan (60W).
How many people does the Forge fit?
The Forge is designed and rated for one person, with a weight limit of approximately 300 lbs.
What are the dimensions and weight?
- Exterior: 2.05 m H x 1.10 m W x 1.05 m D (80.71" x 43.31" x 41.34")
- Interior: 1.85 m H x 1.00 m W x 0.96 m D (72.83" x 39.37" x 37.80")
- Internal Height: 6'2" — you can stand up inside
- Assembled Weight: 214 kg / 471.8 lbs
- Shipping Weight (crated): 259 kg / 571.0 lbs
Can I use the Forge year-round, indoors and outdoors?
Yes. The Forge is designed for both outdoor and indoor use. The matte black aluminum exterior over cedar framing is weather-resistant and engineered to endure the elements year-round, and the cabin also works well in a garage, basement, or dedicated wellness room.
What surface can I place the Forge on?
Any level, load-bearing surface — a concrete pad, composite or pressure-treated deck, pavers, compacted gravel, or an indoor floor capable of supporting the unit's weight. Do not place the Forge directly on soil or grass.
How difficult is the setup process?
Setup takes approximately 1–2 hours and we recommend having two people on hand. Only basic hand tools are required. The electrical connection is a separate step and must be completed by a licensed electrician.
What is FlowCore?
FlowCore is the Forge's active convection airflow system. A low intake moves fresh air in at floor level while a ceiling exhaust vent expels spent air, keeping the cabin comfortable during long sessions.
What wood is the interior made from?
Canadian Hemlock — a light-toned, low-resin, low-odor wood that is well suited for sauna interiors and stays comfortable to the touch at temperature.
What accessories are included?
The Forge includes sauna rocks, a bucket and ladle, an ergonomic backrest, a foot stool, and integrated RGB ambient lighting.
How does the Forge ship?
The Forge ships via LTL (less-than-truckload) freight in a single consolidated plywood crate measuring 216 x 151 x 96 cm (85.0" x 59.4" x 37.8"). A forklift or a two-person team with a pallet jack is required on-site. Standard delivery is curbside/garage-level and does not include indoor transport, room placement, or assembly. White Glove and Room of Choice delivery options are available at checkout.
Does it come with a warranty?
Yes. The cabin is backed by a 2-Year Warranty covering the structural frame, exterior cladding, interior wood, door, hardware, and all cabin components against manufacturing defects. The Harvia® Vega Compact heater carries a 1-Year Warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. Damage from improper installation, use outside the specified electrical requirements, or normal weathering and wear is not covered.
