The SaunaBoxยฎ SmartSteam Kit is ready to use in 3 simple steps. Assemble the frame and heat insulated tent, which takes about 10 minutes. Once assembled, pour distilled water into the SmartSteam chamber, and within 15 minutes, steam will flow into the tent. Step inside, sit down, and experience the vast benefits of heat therapy.
The SaunaBoxยฎ can heat up internally to 130-140ยฐ F with near 100% humidity which may feel subjectively hotter and can elicit greater strains on the cardiovascular system.
Why? Water has a higher heat capacity than air. When you're in a steam sauna, the air is saturated with water vapor which carries more heat energy to your body than dry air would at the same temperature.
This is why the temperature is lower in steam saunas but the humidity can make it just as intense, if not more so, than a dry sauna
The inside of the heat insulated cover is designed with anti-microbial materials to help prevent mold and bacteria build up. A quick dry & machine washable absorbent sweat mat for the floor of the sauna is included in every order. "I've had this sauna for about a year now. Overall it has been good and has done everything I expected from it. The hottest I've been able to get it is about 120 degrees, which is actually extremely hot when you have 100% humidity. I'm only able to stay in for 20 minutes tops. My heart rate gets up to about 150 and my core temperature gets up to 101-102. The seat that came with it only lasted about 6 months before it rusted completely and just broke one day when I was in the sauna. Its a cheap chair and I didn't expect that it would last forever. Also, the sweat mat is slowly starting to disintegrate. We use it almost every day so its to be expected I guess. Everything else has held up good."

I set it on high, get in when it is hot and steamy, I only stay in 12 minutes and that is plenty to do the trick. The cold plunge is a must! You do not have to have ice. I fill it with water and leave it on my front deck, then get in right out of the sauna. That brings the body temperature down and back to normal so that I don’t feel tired after the sauna. The sauna takes about 10-15 minutes to set up and 5 minutes to take down. After you do it once, it gets easier to do it quickly - we compare it to setting up a small camping tent - we wouldn't recommend having the intention to set it up and take it down daily as that may be tedious. But, is it worth bringing on a trip for a few days? We'd give that a big "yes". It will come in a box roughly 11in x 11.8in x 40in (for comparison, this is around the size of a golf bag).
